orie has decided he is getting an ipad for Christmas.
the conversation went sort of like this:
mom, can i get an ipad?
no, buddy. those things are expensive!!
well, i'll just ask santa to get me one for Christmas.
huh, yeah. i don't think that is in santa's budget.
but i thought santa made everything in his workshop.
well, almost everything. but steve jobs is very careful to not let anyone sell apple products unless they are a direct distributor. i think santa would have to go to the apple store for that one. and $500 is not in his budget for a kid's Christmas present.
huh, ok. so what about a DS. santa brought jake a DS. do you think he makes those in his workshop.
nope. he has to get that directly from nintendo. you'll have to ask him if that is in his budget when you see him.
gracious.
what happened to the days of santa filling stockings with apples, oranges & cinnamon sticks.
i think orie had best forget about santa & start putting best buy gift cards on his Christmas list.

on another humorous note, a friend posted on facebook that her 6 year old wants an ipad. (why is this happening to us? can't they just wait until they are 20 or something & can buy their own gadgets).
she asked
do you even know what an ipad is?
and her 5 year old pipes in
i do!! it is what pirates wear over their eye!!
her husband's FB response:
honey, i give you permission to buy all of the kids eyepads.
